+ How do I book a tattoo with you?
You can purchase flash pieces (pre-drawn designs) on this website! Otherwise, I accept custom tattoo requests via a link available on my 'Tattoo Request' website page. It will take you to a form you have to fill out. I accept a small amount of custom tattoo requests a month, so if you don't hear back from me, unfortunately it means I didn't select your request (you can re-submit in two months time). If I've tattooed you before - you can email me directly with custom tattoo requests, which I may or may not take on!
+ What are your studio hours?
I work weekdays, between 12:30pm - 5:30pm. Some days I work until 8pm. Unfortuntely, I do not work weekends unless I am doing a special event.
+ Are you licensed/insured?
Yes, I have a business licence, health permit, and insurance for my tattoo studio and business.
+ How does pricing work?
My pricing is currently $175/hr. My shop minimum, however, is $220 (1hr15min value). If you're getting a small tattoo that takes 45minutes, you still pay the shop minimum of $220. This is the only way for me to justify booking a short session. You can always book two or three small tattoos in one session to make the shop minimum worth your while!
I will discount longer sessions that are several hours long, based on how long it takes.
Your $75 deposit is subtracted from the total cost of your tattoo. However, your deposit is non-refundable. Your deposit must be paid again if you reschedule more than twice.
Just a side note - When you pay a tattoo artist, you are paying for much more than what you see at your appointment! The cost of your tattoo pays for: -rent -insurance -licensing -supplies -marketing -giveaways & charity tattoos that I Love to do -administrative work -time spent drawing -Physiotherapy/occupational therapy / RMT -RRSP -car, gas, vet bills, LIFE! :)
Running your own business is expensive. Tattooing is physically tiring and I do not tattoo 40hrs a week like a regular job. So, thank you for supporting a local, solo artist like myself!
+ Do you do colour tattoos?
I work mostly black ink only! Once in a while, I’ll use a little colour but it’s not often. I’ve done some blue linework florals and some red accents, but not very often.
+ Do you tattoo minors?
I only tattoo 18+.
+ Do you sell gift cards?
I do not sell gift certificates at this time.
+ Is your studio accessible?
My studio is on the 2nd floor, and there is an elevator. However the front door of the building does not open on its own. I can come down to open the door as needed! If you have any specific requirements during your session (ex/ sensory sensitivities I should know about) please communicate your needs beforehand and I will try my best to accomodate them :)
+ Do you do coverups/ re-work existing tattoos?
I do not do coverups or touchup tattoos that are not mine.
+ Do you do hand/finger/neck tattoos?
I only do hand/finger/neck tattoos sometimes. Tops of hands/fingers I do more often. You can google the reasons why many tattooists often choose not to tattoo certain areas!
+ Can I get more than one tattoo in a session?
Yes, if they’re on the smaller side, you can request a session to do 2 or 3 small tattoos in your form.
+ Do you design custom tattoos?
Yes, I design custom tattoos based on your vision and inspiration pictures. I will not tattoo an image off of the internet unless you’ve purchased a license to pay that artist. But I can take the inspiration photo and create something similar, to ensure it’s an adaptation of an original design. I enjoy designing delicate, illustrative, botanical tattoos.
+ Do you do consultations?
I do not do consultations. Instead, I ask that you spend time going through my Instagram to get an idea of the work that I do, and then submit a request form if you’re interested in working with me. Once I receive a submission, if I choose to take on your request, I’ll contact you to proceed and get more information from you if needed.
+ Do you accept all tattoo requests?
Unfortunately I cannot take on all request submissions, as I receive so many! My style is generally minimalist/illustrative. If your request doesn’t fall into my aesthetic it may be best to find a different artist. But I’m still learning and growing, so I may take on a challenge/something different when I am ready to! So there’s no harm in asking.
+ Are deposits refundable?
Deposits are non-refundable. This is to ensure that clients are committed and to reduce correspondence and processing fees. This is standard practice in the tattoo industry. My deposit is $75. If you must cancel/reschedule an appointment, you can do so up to 2 times if needed and your deposit can transfer over. If a third reschedule is needed, I will then require a new deposit. As a single-person, small business owner/artist, I appreciate your understanding and your support!
+ Do I see the design before our appointment?
Yes! I will send you the design close to your appointment date for you to give me feedback/suggestions. We will both OKAY the design before your appointment so that when you arrive, we can focus on placement and then tattooing!
+ Can I bring a friend/my partner to my appointment?
Yes you can bring a friend! As long as no one is sick or has been in contact with someone who is sick (ex/ Covid, flu, colds, etc.)
+ What is a vegan tattoo?
Many tattoos nowadays claim to be vegan because they use vegan ink. However, if you’re an animal lover who wants to ensure that ALL aspects of your tattoo are vegan, I can ensure that everything I use is animal-free at each step of your tattoo. This includes the soap/ transfer paper/ transfer solution/ razors/ aftercare. I am a hardcore animal lover at my core. I believe in liberation for all humans and non-humans.
Unfortunately, the tattoo process is not zero waste. Because it involves breaking the skin (ie blood) tattooists must follow strict health guidelines for sanitizing and single-use needles/covering equipment.
+ What are your Covid19 guidelines?
Tattoo studios have always followed strict health & sanitation guidelines since we work with broken skin. Despite Covid restrictions now having relaxed at many tattoo studios, I still have requirements I ask of you as my client.
If you feel even slightly unwell, please reschedule your appointment.
If you’ve been in contact with a Covid19+ individual within the past 2 weeks, reschedule.
In my private studio, I have an open window with fresh air pumped in by a fan. I also have a high-end air purifier with a 295CFM Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) that purifies room spaces up to 645 sq. ft. I have had three doses of the Covid vaccine as well.
